Grilled Tenderstem Broccoli
Ingredients:
1 bunch of Tenderstem broccoli
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Optional extras to your taste:
chili flakes or grated parmesan for garnish
Method:
Light your charcoal BBQ and allow the coals to burn down to a medium heat with an even layer of embers.
Bring a pot of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Blanch the Tenderstem broccoli by boiling it for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender, then drain and set aside.
In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Once the grill grate is hot, place the parboiled broccoli on the grill and brush with the olive oil mixture on all sides lightly. (Be careful as olive oil can cause flare ups and too much char)
Grill the broccoli over the medium heat, turning occasionally and basting with the oil mixture for about 4-5 minutes, until the broccoli is charred and tender.
Remove from the grill, then garnish with optional chili flakes or grated parmesan if desired, great served with our romesco sauce recipe.
Serve immediately and enjoy the smoky, charred goodness!
